THE ENTHUSIAST
These travelers may be school teachers, accountants, students or housewives, but they live for the next trip, the next adventure, the next experience!
THE ADVENTURER
“Adventurers” exhibit all the symptoms of enthusiasts with one added ingredient: the presence of some physical challenge or physical risk.
THE SPORTSMAN
“Sportsmen,” or “Sportswomen” for that matter, may have no interest in travel but love to spend their vacations on their sport, be it wind surfing, tennis, or skiing.
THE RELAXER
“Relaxers” want to spend their vacations on a beach anywhere there is absolutely, positively nothing to do. The bodies of relaxers cry out for renewal.
THE BEACHBUM
“Beach bums” differ from relaxers because they must have a beach and guaranteed sunshine to bring home enviable tans. They may also like other water sports.
THE COMFORT SEEKER
For comfort seekers, the thrill is not where they go, but how they go. Comfort seekers are like the “rich and famous” who just want the best wherever they go.
THE SHOPPER
“Shoppers,” love to travel to go shopping. Anything else they do on vacation is relegated to hours when the shops are closed, which doesn’t leave time for much else.
THE DISCOVERER
“Discoverers” seek out destinations that are firsts. Discoverers love the thrill of the unknown and will be first to plunk down a deposit for a commercial flight to outer space.
THE CULTURIST
“Culturists” travel to immerse themselves in another culture and learn about the people, their customs or their language. Culturists, if not history lovers, have at least a reverence for historical sights and like to browse in art museums, see the local folk dances and music festivals.
